The COVID-19 pandemic poses profound ethical, legal, and social challenges to researchers, clinicians, legal professionals, and communities. This webinar will focus on the enormous issues raised by vaccine research and deployment, including how to balance speed of development with safety. Distinguished panelists from across the country will discuss ethical issues related to trial design, challenge trials with deliberate infection of research participants, what proof of safety and efficacy the Food & Drug Administration should require, global coordination of vaccine development, and equitable distribution.
