Science & Technology Policy Fellowships

American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science & Technology Policy Fellowships (STPF) provide an opportunity for scientists and engineers to apply their knowledge and analytical skills to the federal policymaking process. The program offers one-year assignments in the federal government’s executive, legislative, and judicial branches in Washington. With approximately 4,000 policy-savvy leaders working across academia, government, nonprofits, and industry, the program is continuously growing to serve the nation and the world. Fellows receive a stipend and other support, including reimbursement for health care insurance.

This >50 year old program is the premier venue for trainees, staff and faculty to gain first hand experience and expertise in the world of science and technology policy in Washington DC.
